Founding Frontend Architect
About Us
FleetGlue is building the FactoryOS that will allow manufacturers to scale production ready automation solutions in minutes, not months. With a suite of powerful applications, we allow manufacturers to automate faster and smarter by interoperably coordinating every robot, machine, and system on one platform. At FleetGlue, our mission is to give every American manufacturer the power to automate their factories at hyperspeed.
We’re already deployed in production at top manufacturers and growing fast. Backed by leading investors, and built by a team that moves at light speed with deep conviction in American industrial dominance.
The Role
As our Founding Frontend Architect, you’ll lead the design, architecture, and implementation of the core interfaces that connect people to robots, sensors, and industrial systems. Your work will define how automation looks, feels, and behaves — from factory floors to cloud dashboards.
What You’ll Do
- Design how humans see and command automation. Build the primary touchpoints where operators, engineers, and AI collaborate — real-time maps of robots, mission planners, analytics dashboards, and control layers for industrial systems.
- Architect the frontend foundation. Define the structure, component library, and design language that every Conduit application will inherit — scalable, resilient, and ready for the next decade of automation.
- Build critical tools. Design, develop, and maintain the suite of applications that drive manufacturing intelligence, deployment, and operations.
- Prototype new interactions between humans and machines. Experiment with live robot control UIs, visual programming for automation, and interfaces that make the physical world programmable.
- Unblock and mentor. Guide other engineers through design review, code review, and deep architectural thinking.
- Establish world-class UI engineering standards. Champion performance, testing, accessibility, and design systems that move as fast as our robots do.
- Collaborate across disciplines. Work hand-in-hand with our forward-deployed engineers, product team, and customers on the floor to translate operational needs into product experiences.
- Drive modern front-end practice. Introduce and standardize frameworks, build pipelines, and CI/CD workflows that keep Conduit’s UI layer robust and scalable.
- Shape the roadmap. Influence how our product evolves — your voice will carry from system design discussions to our long-term architecture for human-machine collaboration.
You Bring
- 8–10+ years building complex, high-performance single-page web applications, including 3+ years in a lead or founding role.
- Deep fluency in modern web technologies — React, TypeScript, Redux (or equivalent), and modern build pipelines.
- A strong eye for design — you understand how structure, motion, and feedback shape trust between humans and automation.
- Experience shipping production systems with full instrumentation, testing, and CI/CD.
- A track record of evolving simple systems into powerful, scalable ones that still feel effortless.
- Comfort in technical environments — working near robotics, IoT, and distributed systems doesn’t intimidate you; it excites you.
- The ability to turn ambiguous problems into production-ready systems.
- Great communication and leadership skills — able to translate between design, product, and engineering.
Bonus Points
- Experience with real-time or ultra-low-latency applications.
- Background in robotics, manufacturing, or IoT interfaces.
- Experience with Typscript is a must
- Exposure to backend technologies (Node.js, Elixir, Go, etc.) or distributed architectures.
- Passion for building the human layer of automation — the interfaces that make machines work for people, not the other way around.
What We Offer
- Top tier compensation and equity
- Working closely with CTO and CEO
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics technology
